Need: High optical output for long-range sensing or powerful material processing, without compromising on energy consumption or thermal stability.
ROHM's Solution: ROHM Semiconductor's RLD90QZW* series high-power laser diodes offer industry-leading power conversion efficiency, particularly under high-temperature conditions. For example, at 85ºC, ROHM’s lasers deliver the highest output at a forward current of 40A, outperforming competing 120W products. And for even greater power, our new RLD8BQAB3 8-channel array provides up to 1kW of optical output.
Need: Narrow, uniform beams for high-resolution LiDAR, precise range-finding, or accurate material interaction.
ROHM's Solution: ROHM’s RLD90QZW* series of high-power laser diodes are engineered for precision, featuring some of the industry’s narrowest emission profiles. For example, the RLD90QZWA achieves an ultra-narrow beam width of just 35µm, making it easier to focus light through the external lens which significantly enhances LiDAR resolution.

The RLD90QZW* series also delivers exceptional light beam uniformity. While conventional edge-emitting lasers often suffer from intensity drop-off at the beam edges, ROHM’s technology ensures uniform luminous intensity across the entire emission area, enabling high-resolution imaging all the way to the periphery.
Need: Laser diodes that perform flawlessly despite wide temperature ranges, vibrations, or potential contaminants in industrial settings.
ROHM's Solution: ROHM Semiconductor's RLD90QZW* series high-power laser diodes are characterized by minimal wavelength variation across a wide temperature range. This enables the use of much narrower bandpass filters, significantly reducing sunlight-induced noise and improve the S/N ratio. The result is longer measurement distances or lower power consumption.
Our latest RLD90QZW8 achieves among the industry’s best performance, with wavelength temperature variation less than 0.1nm/℃ from -20°C to +85°C. For more demanding conditions, the 8-channel RLD8BQAB3 maintains high performance up to 125°C. Housed in robust, industry-standard packages, these diodes are built for long-term reliability in harsh environments.

ROHM's Solution: While our lineup excels in high-power applications, we're also innovating for integration.
