Abstract:


The increasing number of electric vehicles is putting a strain on the infrastructure of charging stations, especially in cities and metropolitan areas. Several global organizations are working intensively on charging standardization, bringing up vehicle to grid (V2G) concept into charging stations of the future. More and more households are therefore opting for an in-house charging station in conjunction with a PV system on the roof. The growing demand in this area poses numerous questions to the industry: How can the infrastructure be expanded in a timely and cost-efficient manner in order to promote motivation to switch to electric propulsion? Which semiconductor technology will lead the way in this application? And which topology designs and power classes are best suited for charging stations? In this webinar we will look at different topologies with the future perspective of DC-home charging in combination with PV systems and ESS systems. Additionally, modular solution for boosting up the charging station power, using the lower power building blocks, is discussed.

Dr. Marija Jankovic, Field Application Engineer at ROHM Semiconductor GmbH. After having earned a PhD degree in Power Electronics at the University of Nottingham, Great Britain, Dr. Marija Jankovic worked as Development Engineer at Porsche Engineering Services in Stuttgart focusing on the High Voltage Power Electronics Systems.
